Charming Lisbon
Yes, Lisbon can be hilly. But it is not that bad as you may think if you chose the right way! We keep it with only one initial uphill which brings us up to Parque Eduardo VII and the most amazing view to the city. Once we are up here the tough part is almost done.
We slowly start our way back to the river. Through the calm neighbourhoods of Amroeiras and Estrela with typical and traditional Portuguese life far away from the tourism crowd. At the neighbourhoods of Estrela and Madragoa we cross some of the most lovely parks of Lisbon, before we see one of Lisbon’s centrers of subculture, the LX Factory. Finally we reach Rio Tejo and an easy cycling lane to return.
- Baixa & Avenida da Liberdade
- Estrela & Campo de Ourique
- Alcantara & Rio Tejo
Cycling lanes are limited in Lisbon’s We mostly bike on side roads with calm traffic. The total of 20 km comes with not more than 350m of uphill and should be accessible for everyone who doesn´t consider him-/herself as a couch potato.

Lisbon's East
At the end of Lisbon’s historic city center we find a surprisingly different city: Multicultural life, streetart and parks, and modern architecture next to industrial ruins: Welcome to Lisbon’s East!
Indian, Chines and African neighborhoods next to Bohemian lifestyle and Portuguese “Tascas”: Between Mouraria, Intendente, Anjos every street is a micro-cosmos. Big parks lead us from here to the residential areas and to the upcoming industrial quartiers of Marvila and Xabregas. Famous streetart galleries, craft beer breweries and vintage shops gave new life to old industrial buildings. Along Rio Tejo we reach Lisbons most modern area at Parque das Nacoes (EXPO) with a hugh recreation zone and the best views to huge Vasco da Gama Bridge.
- Intendente & Mouraria
- Marvila & Braco da Prata
- Parque das Nacoes (Expo)
If you want to take pictures from cosy squares and colorful tiles, this is not your tour! If you want to look behind this scenery, here it is. We are pretty much on cycling lanes, but also have to hit the traffic once in a while.

Monsanto Bike Escape
onsanto Park is Lisbon’s biggest recreation zone. The ideal place to escape from the city rush within a few minutes!
Coming from the waterfront, we have a time lapse city tour: Alfama, Baixa, Avenida, Parque Eduardo and Amoreiras in only 30min. West of the city center we enter the massive Monsanto Park. Best mountainbike trails in the heart of city are an excellente escape from Lisbon’s city rush.
- Quick Sightseeing Tour in Lisbon
- Unique views from Lisbon’s highest points
- Forest roads and bike trails in the middle of the city
Some tough uphills are compensated by the most impressive views over Lisbon and until the surrounding region until Sintra! Downhill we go singletrail! No matter if you are advanced biker or beginner: You will be surpriced how much mountain biking Lisbon’s city trails can offer!
